My pos bov

I had a question about the stock 2g bov, Does it have to be installed straight up and down. I have mine at a 90 degree angle (as in the inlet is sideways and the outlet points up) right now and it leaks like crasy. It just constantly lets out air, Even when boost is coming in the top. I know they leak and are plastic junk any ways, But im broke and stuck with it for now.

I went from boosting at about 9-10psi on the 2gen BOV to boost at 12-13 psi on a 1gen BOV... My wife drove it and said "HOLY CRAP"

Ok that is what i though, It is just weird how much air it leaks out, Its like its never shut. I will just get some money together and buy a 1g.

Wow that is really lame...Why would they make some thing so cheap like that? Probly just to make a few more dollars per car. You would think when its in vacume the valve would get sucked closed, but o-well i will just have to live with it for the time. Thanks for all the help!

are you venting it? and why did you turn it sideways to begin with? do a leakdown test. see what happens. or spend the $$ and get some Dejon pipes and a 1g BOV

Yeah it is vented, But its a blow thru set up. It is sideways because i have custom made intercooler piping and i mounted it where the pipe is going up from the intercooler over my trans.

I know i have leaks, The leaks are so bad that it cant even get past vacume into the boost range. I hope its just a error in my gauge! The bov does sound when i shift. But for being vented it isent all that loud.

I made a boost leak checker, Found and fixed all the leaks i could. The only one left that i can find is thru the bov.

i boost 15 steady and spike to 18 briefly. am i on the edge, or should i tone it down a little?
