extremely hard shifting!

I have an 87 camaro 305 auto I'm trying to sell right now. I don't know if whoever had it before me did something to it or what, but when your sitting in park and drop it into drive it does it so hard that the tire spins...even holding the brake as hard as possible. Same way with reverse. Is there something I can do without tearing it apart and putting money into it to fix it before I sell it?

well see I have an old guy looking into it for his son or grandson, and I think if he test drives it and feels it shift so hard he won't even consider...I love it, but you know old people...

oh i know old people...dont get me started on old people...

honestly, it sounds like a torque converter problem... it may be locking up too soon or too hard...

Sell the car as "shift kit equipped" which shifts hard, but also adds life to your transmission :)

do u know wether or not some1 put a shift kit on ur tranny?

I don't know for sure but I'm thinkin so. I also think they might have put a cam in it or something...seems like it has quite a little bit of power for a 305.

I think you can adjust the way it shifts through the TV cable a bit.

I have that too, not so hard but whenever i put it into d or r it jerks/jerks into gear.
