Newb question on O2 Sensor

Hey Im still learning a lot about cars including mines and me and my bro just put in headers and a catback last night. The thing is the O2 sensor wires are pretty messed up because the headers i got were used and we couldnt use the one on the stock headers because well...it just WONT come off lol. So basically...if I dont have it plugged in, will it harm anything??? I already been driving it without it plugged in because I have school but will driving it too long without it do anything?

I think all it does is read the amount of oxygen in your mixture. Not having it plugged in would just keep ypu computer from regualting the engine to what the o2 sensor reads. (I'm learning too, this is what I think would happen, teach me anyone if I'm wrong.)

not having an 02 sensor will give you a CEL. Also, the ecu will go into safe mode and retard your timing etc, so that you don't do damage to your motor. Also, if you have VTEC, VTEC will not engage
