I recently installed the 7-inch Fabtech lift on my 01 2wd Silverado. I have been extremely happy with it. It rides much like stock, if not better, and looks awesome!

One compliant, the fuel mileage dropped about 3 mpg with 33s. My Chevy came stock with 3.73s, but that is not quite enough. I have purchased 4.10s to get the gearing back to what it was stock. However, I have yet to install them.

As for the 7-inch Fabtech lift, I installed it myself. It was pretty cumbersome and took me and a buddy about 8 hours to do. No specials tools were needed. I opted to install 33s rather than the recommended 35s for two reasons, (1) I did not want to cut/trim my bumper and (2) the whole gearing issue (I thought I may have been able to get out of changing the gears).

I would recommend the 7-inch system over the 6-inch system because everyone I spoke to said the 6-inch system rides like a rock. Another reason is that the sub-frame design looks much cleaner and it only costs about 70 bucks more. I paid $1235 out the door for my complete kit with shocks.

Good luck in your hunt.
