engine noise

my car problems never end.....i started my car tonight and it ran a little rough for a little bit...not anything i was really worried about since it was cold out....i went drove around a while and then i started noticing it was kind of hesitant in 1st and 2nd ...it would bog a little bit almost...then i noticed a louder ticking noise coming from under the hood....the car has always made a ps..ps..ps..ps..ps coming from the valve covers..but now its a little louder and there is a seconddary tick if you listen closely....any ideas?

you might have a collapsed(sp) lifter. just guessing.

sounds like it to me.

sounds to me like a sticking lifter, if your lucky you can tak off the vavle cover and spray some wd 40 on the rockers and springs and everything and it might come unstuck
