alright, this has been bugging me for a while. In the top gear reviewing the corvette c6 at the end they post the time on that little wall of theirs. What was bugging me tho, is that they were like WOW! that's almost as fast as an evo. and the evo VIII was right above it on the list. Shouldn't the corvette be faster?

Yeah, the corvette is faster, but not only that, with a top speed of 186 mph, it can go like more than 30 mph faster than the evo VIII

They were probably referring to the evos in the UK. The MRs or FQs. Which are nearly as fast as the Lamborghini Gallardo. I believe the ones in the US would probably be ranked along with the corvettes.

ah, but why are the british ones any different than than the american ones? and what do they cost in pounds?

The American ones have restrictions. In order for the car to be acceptable as a road car in America, Mitsubishi had to build an american version of the evo. Lower in power, lower in tourque.... well u get the drift. But the british ones cost alittle more i guess. Not too sure bout pricing though. Try google, read up on the evo VIII FQ 320.

The EVO MR is like the Challenge Stradale of EVO's.... Im impressed the Corvette was close...
But what bugged me the most was how overly critical Jeremy was on the interior and leaf springs... I understand that the shifter might be a little heavy...
Sometimes their anti-americanism can get quite irritating.

Not that some American cars arent pretty to look at, but the Corvette isnt a contender against eg. Ferraris, Lambos. The Corvette is made by americans for americans, end of story.
Hell the best cars of today come from europe, eg. BMW and Ferrari in my opinion.
Just to make sure people, I am not anti america...

ya... don't understand why they have to tune down the evo for US use. I mean they allow ferraris on the road dont they? Why can't a full blown evo be imported into the US when there are 500 break horsepower supercars rolling along on American streets? Anyhow, just to let you guys know, i'm not from america. I'm right on the equator. Singapore. And sadly... cars are MOST expensive in Singapore. Check it out guys, go to www.aas.com.sg check out new car prices. Select the car or make you reckon would be cheapest. Then support jaw.

they were refering to top speed around the track not in a straight line. The evo can take corners at faster speed.

and the brakes...oh those vettes can get a little frisky in the corners...they are always critical to american cars...i dont think i have seen one american car that they haven't criticized strongly, other then the GT40...

hey the reason they said that it was almost faster than the viii was bcuz it was faster on the track that they test the cars on.
