pressure regulator?!?!?!?

ok...what is it and what does it do...i dont have it on my car...i have the map sensor that's not mounted...can someone tell me what a pressure regulator cut off solenoid valve and also a purge cut off solenoid valve...can it affect my engine and the vtec kicking in...if not what does it do...good or bad?

well a solenoid by design is basically a "gate" that opens and closes.
the purge cutoff solenoid is basically a vent for teh gas tank. Im not sure exactly when it is set to open, but it basically opens at a certain time to allow gases to be sucked into the engine through the vacuum line connected to the side of it.
The pressure regulator cut off (im guessing as i've never had a car that actually had it) controls when and if vacuum is cut from the pressure regulator. I dont really know why certain models have these, as at WOT there is no vacuum going to the regulator anyways.
