I want to paint my car and i was wondering how much it would cost to paint the entire car. no engine interior, etc. just physically?and 1 more thing not some cheap paint that will fall of in like 2-3 years but not too expensive just an estimate doesn't have to be exact

I was actually researching that today. Unless you want to use a spray can from Walmart :grinno: I don't know if investing in all the tools required to do it yourself (the right way) would be worth it. I'm sure I could do it, but I wouldn't want to buy the tools just for a one time use.

I had mine done (well actually my work paid for it!) in June. It was stripped, primer, base & clear all for only 5 weeks and $3600. There was no body damage other than the occastional scratch/door ding. Just keep in mind that this is the most expensive, recognized, body shop around. You can always go to Macco :lol2:

With a paintjob its really not how expensive the paint or quality is. I talked to a pro painter guy he said 80% of it is how well you prepare the surface if you just pay a pro to use a power sander and do your whole car in 20 min then good luck that shit will fall off no matter what but if you hand do it yourself it will stay on forever. My uncle had a Celica he was painting he went to these Asian dudes in a un known paint shop they said they would do it for 400 bucks its been almost 6 years now and the paint is like brand new still shines nothing is chaning color or falling off. Of course he washed his car weekly and waxed it durring regular intervals but for only 300 bucks its 6 years and still perfect. So really its all about the prepare work on the body Keep it smooth and hand wet sand it with 800 sandpaper until its perfectly smooth. Thats what my uncle did. of course 6 years ago stuff was cheaper but 300 bucks is still like 500-600 today

That's true, but I think that its all about who you know. Depending on where you live, I think its harder to find people to do that. I know people who will do a good paint job for 5-600, but I would have to buy the paint (not complaining), and go to Gainsville (3hrs away from Daytona).
