i'm installing a remote starter
it says hook up to brake line, they say its a white wire
no white wire
on the brake switch there are 2 connections
1 has 2 wires
the other has like 4 or 5
which is which
i have a feeling it is the one with two wires, but i probe them both and press the brake pedal and nothing happens
does the car have to be on to test these wires

The connector with the 2 wires is where you need to go, one of those wires should be white and the other orange. Regardless if they are or not, one of those wires (orange) will have 12v at it regardless where the brake pedal is and the other (white) will have 12v only when the brake pedal is pressed, that's the wire you want.
P.S. No the car does not have to be on when testing.
