Still on the 1960 292...what color are the valve covers supposed to be. I bought Ford Red engine paint but it looks too red.

I would think "Old Ford Blue or Ford Blue"(Ford Blue is brighter) would be the original color, I'm not positve but I think thats what my grandpa told me on my '68 Galaxie.

I got tired of spray bombing every year to keep my Gal looking good. Once I decided on my color ( I finally picked gold for my 390) I went and had the valve covers powder coated for $40. They stay looking great!

I got some steel stamped chrome Ford Racing logo valve covers after i rebuilt the motor for $60.

Ive seen truck 292s that were gold, T-birds had red and theres the ever famous blue. I agree with the one fellow and say that powder coating is way way more durable.
