i have a 1998 mitsubishi eclipse gs that i keep in good condition. When the vehicle had 60,000 miles i took to mitsubishi and had them change the timing belt. In the process of them doing that they noticed that my head gasket was blown and they fixed it. A few days later i took it back to mitsubishi because there was hydraulic fluid leaking inside the car from the clutch master cylinder. They replaced the clutch master cylinder for $600. My car now has 122,000 miles and once again my clutch master cylinder is leaking hyraulic fluid inside the vehicle and my head gasket is blown. When I took it to mitsubishi they told that it is normal for the head gasket and master cylinder to fail at these intervals. Am i the only one with these repetative problems?

$600 to replace the clutch master cylinder?? Go to dsmtuners.com and check out the how to section. They have a good write up on how to change the clutch master cylinder on your own. They must have charged you like $500 in labor alone.

New masters are like 50 bucks, I dont get it. 500-550 in labor is more than they charge to change the actual clutch. :)
