diy digicam

pretty old (pre 1999) but none the less cool web page about someone building their own digital camera out of a flatbed scanner. as the author says, back then digicams were very expensive. i bought my first in december 1999 (1.5Mpixel) and it cost me £500 (~$850) for a very simple fixed focal length compact.

i particually like the pic of the garage door opening and (almost) closing again. :)

Thats very cool, I hope someone in R&D is paying that guy a lot of money to come up with ideas.
