floor and cab mounts

this question is for anyone who has replaced the floor , is it double wall steel on the cab floor ? was wondering if you have to pull the carpet to weld in new cab mounts and floor pan. thanks

YES!! Never do any welding on the floor pan without removing anything that could melt or burn. Good penetration for welding will get the metal on the inside cherry red and it will burn.
