my crx smoke when i stomp it. we have replaced valves and seal,cam seals, and head gasket. what else is there?

What color smoke is it? If it's black your running too rich. If it's blue, try using "Restore", it's an oil additive that lower oil burning. GL

more than likely its your rings. i did the same thing, replaced all the valves and stuff. and mine is still smoking like a frieght train. i burn through about two quarts a week. check the rings man

its not hard if you are mechanically inclined and go about it in a methodical way. be patient and follow all of the specifications and clearances in the book and you can do it. Make sure you also have a nice clean, dry environment to work.

Most of the time, people will just buy another "low mileage" longblock to replace theirs when it goes bad becuase its affordable to do.. provided you have a d series engine. Its up to you.

I replaced the longblock because while I can do electronics and general repairs to the motor, I didn't feel that rings was something I could accomplish at this point.

But if I land this job today, I'm definitly going to be building a ZC project motor. :)
