engine type and ECU ship upgrade

Just got my second prelude. This is a 91 but I am not sure if it is the original USDM B20A5 or the JDM B20A ? Anyway to tell ? The engraving says B20A on the engine block but I have heard people saying it is actually B20A5 ? Also, saw some chips on ebay saying will improve hp, any truth to that. It claims it will work for B20A pk2 ECU, I have not checked my ECU id yet. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

If it says B20a? You have yourself a JDM motor. And those 20 dollar chips on ebay have had nothing but bad reviews on the research i have done

racing isn't a cheap sport. if your going to buy something, make sure its of good quality. trust me, i learned after i bought some cheap ebay headers for my 5th gen. if you want an ecu upgrade, get the real thing.

why get ecu upgrades.....buy yourself a engine management system like greddy emanage....or vafc...

The easiest thing here is to just buy the ECU that is intended for the engine...
