Sorry hon, but Olds threads belong in the Olds forum... But fear not! :D There are still a few Oldsmobile enthusiasts who may just come to your aid!

Transmitter Programming

Important
Before entering the programming mode, verify possession of all the transmitters you will be using on the vehicle. Once you program the transmitter, the memory erases. The other transmitters will not be functional until you program the transmitters again. You may program up to 4 transmitters.

Perform the following procedure when adding new transmitters or replacing failed transmitters:

Turn OFF the ignition switch.

Use a fused jumper wire in order to jumper the Data Line Connector terminal 8 (BLK/WHT) to terminal 4 (BLK).
Close all of the doors.
Turn ON the ignition switch. The doors will cycle to lock.
Press and hold the following buttons on one of the transmitters:
LOCK
UNLOCK
After a 30 second delay, the doors will lock and unlock.
In order to program extra transmitters, repeat Step 5.

Important
Do not turn off the ignition. If the switch is turned off, the first transmitter becomes inoperative.

Disconnect the fused jumper wire from the DLC.

Hi All,

I tried using these instructions but they didn't work for me. First off, it looked like pin # 4 had no wire going to it. It was kind of hard to see, so I could be wrong. But it really looked like there was no wire there. I went ahead and tried it anyway and when I turned the key on, my locks did not cycle. So I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. I have a 99 Aurora. Any suggestions, other than taking it to a dealer?

Thanks,

Michael

Is this thread about the remote control that comes with the key, used to lock/unlock the doors? I bout my car used and that remote doesnt work. I replaced the batteries and held lock/unlock but that didnt help.

Is there a way to make this work so i dont have to use my key to lock/unlock the doors?? On a 96 aurora where would i find the panel to bypass this?

all and any help is appreciated. Should I take it to a dealer?
