Hey all,
I know it's blashphemy, but I have to think of the future.
I love driving and working on my '90 Geo Metro, but I'm looking for another little commuter car that is easy to work on and easy on the wallet to operate.
Any recommendations?

hehehe. I have only worked on the older G10 3 cylinder engines. I haven't worked on the 1.3 L 4 cylinders.
Anyone have any comments on the newer engine vs. the G10?
I think the tranny is the same sine 1989. Correct me if I am wrong.

The newer ones are quite nice too. the 2000-2001 came in a 16V SOHC motor. They're peppy, and still get excellent gas mileage. Also more comfy and quiet than the older ones. Still easy to work on too. Same suspension, tranny, and everything.

Thanks for the info guys. OK. So I'm looking for a decent "newer" Geo Metro now. I'm thinking of going 5speed rather than AT this time.
What would be a good price for a newer Metro like this? Anyone priced the market? I am near Sacramento, CA.
