It is probably smart for you to take your custom rims off for the winter if you live in an area where it snows and the roads need to be salted. Salt and metal don't really mix together and when the temperature rises above freezing, you might get some rusting from the salt. Also if you live in an area where it snows, pot holes are very common and sometimes the pot holes can damage your rims and tires too.

You never heard of that? Well in the winter all that anti snow shiet is on the road and it eats into the clear coat on your rims which makes them not as glossy, i take mine off in December and put them back on in April, but that's just me.

It's also for the fact that if you fo sliding into a curb that you dont damage your rims. if you want you can either put on your stock rims with or without hubcaps and that way if you hit a curb...think :thinkerg:
...it's only a stock rim. :D

I would take them off if you live in an area that has winter weather for the same reasons that have been stated above. In addition, it is hard to keep them clean during the winter, do why even bother? Keep them nice and safe so you have them back for spring, summer and fall...

No winter here, I am in AZ. We do have plenty of pot holes though...figure that one out
