exhaust piping?

I own a 1992 mitsubishi eclipse 1.8L fwd. A while ago I had a muffler put on my car. My whole exhaust is stock except for the muffler. Would it be better if I had catback exhaust or wouldnt it matter? Does bigger piping make your exhaust louder?

bigger piping will make your exhaust louder. with a 1.8 N/A (naturaly aspirated, non-turbo) you dont want too big of pipe because you'll lose low end power. if you want to go fast a 1.8 isnt the car to do it in lol. i had one and it was a fun car but its not very fast compared to others.

Would bigger piping make my exhaust sound high pitched or just louder with the same deep sound like it has now?
