I've had my jetta for a few months now and allthe sudden the door won't stay shut, my friends say it's the cable in the car. Can someone please tell me how to remove the door panel...thanks!

Do you mean the latch wont unlatch to shut, so you cant even shut the door? or it closes but swings open?

I had this problem with my 95 Jetta. First try spraying out the door latches with WD-40, working the latch back and forth. If it frees, spray it heavily with white lithium grease. If this doesn't work, you'll have to do what I did. Take the doors apart, the windows out, the latch boxes off and apart and free them up. Good luck!

The door panels are held by allen screws all around the outside of the door. They srew into plastic clips inside the door. For the front door, there is also a screw behind inside handle. The window levers come off too. Grab the plastic ring (its about 1/2 thick) on the handle by the door panel, and pull up. It's kinda like a "C" around the handle pin, then the handle will come off.
