I have a 97 dodge ram 1500 w/46re trans. 4x4 auto. the trans was just rebuilt with everything new, prob. caused by sticking check valve. now I have another problem the day i got it back, after driving a mile 1st and 2nd gear were gone. It starts out in third, has no power from stop, but once it got going it would have power. i tried getting the flash codes, i got 12, 15, and it flashes 45,3 times then 55 to say its done. I called the shop that had just rebuild it, took it back told him the codes he drove it agreed it seemed to be starting in third, said he would use his snap-on scanner for codes, said it had all kind of electrical problems. he got 11 or 12 fault codes. left the truck he changed the govenor pressure sensor and trans temp sensor,(both of which were brand new). I get the truck back check eng light is off and its running great for about 5 miles. the od light and trans temp light go on and off, i again loose 1st and 2nd. I shift manually to get it home. I remove the ground from the battery to clear the fault codes from the pem. after this it seems to start and run fine, the check eng light is out and it shifts fine. I drive a few miles and it start all over again. I dont want to be robbed by the tranny shop again, any ideas?

I've never even heard of this problem happening. From the way you have explained it, it has to be electrical. I have the same tranny in my 97 and have never had any problem like this, although I have had my share of problems with it. I'd have all those codes ran through again, get a list of what the codes are coming up and what part is effected, and trace your electrical system from the part or sensor that is bad, all the way to the computer. Speaking of computers, is it possible that your computer has a "virus"? Maybe your computer is shot.

I am thinking it electrical now also. I did some adjusting to the tps and like always ran better for a few miles and back to the messing up again.
the od light flickers and the tran temp light flickers the error code now is p1763 same as befor but now the gov is reading high. It was reading low last time, last week and was replaced. It was brand new the week before
so we are not replacing again. I am looking at the ecectrical, any suggestions would be appreciated.
