I have a 92 s10 blazer with the spare mounted on the tailgate. I have a real Real REALLY annoying rattling in the cargo area like plastic rubbing plastic or summin. Do u think my spare has anything to do wid it or is it just old age?

All that bass musta knocked somethin loose! To the window!..to the tailgate...uh, I mean wall...I'm on my second 98 blazer and they both rattle like crazy inside. Plenty of plastic on plastic love. Sorry, I know I'm no help.

LoL,

Seriously, with the blazer ive noticed that subwoofers do extensive damage to the pins that hold the interior together! Ive had to get some pins that bold my door panels back on.

Yeah, also ive noticed if you offroad alot or even once with a blazer. When your car stresses to one side or another (like 1 of the 4 tires dropping down something it puts stress on the back) my car sounds sqeaky as all hell.

Yes, pull the spare tire carrier up and down when it is unhooked from the door and see if there is any play.

Also, wrap electrical tape around the rear window loop and make it thicker so the latch is tighter.

Also, lube the assembly and the hinges.

My top hinge on the tire mount works itself loose every now and then and i hit back down. Is there anything I can do about this? Thanks for the electrical tape trick!!!

My 92 always had the same problem. I found that if you lube the tire mounts hinge pins (they tend to get rusty) with either WD-40 or white lithium it quieted down quite a bit.

If it is big enough, you can wear a ridge around it and install a cotter pin.
