Cam Gears: AEM or Skunk2

This weekend i buying my next set of mods, ive been doing some research on cam gears and im down to AEM and Skunk2s. Anyone have these? Which ones (in your honest opinion) are better as far as HP gains, Adjustability and reliance?:bandit:

first off...doesnt look like you have enough mods to need some cam gears? usually people dont get cam gears until they get cams or have every mod BUT cams. either way...on to your question. i was told the new AEM cam gears have 5 bolts, not 3 like they used to. the skunk2 have 6, which in my mind makes me feel safer but also will take a little longer to adjust(if youre really lazy). either will work fine as long as your torque the bolts correctly. ;)

I thought the new gears could be used to tune the stock cams on the prelude?

you can but you wont get much out of them....MAYBE 1-2hp id say

actually, there's almost no power gain, except for what's generated from reduced rotational force since the new gears are lighter.

the main advantage to cam gears are to adjust the powerband, to put the power where you need it.

i have the Skunk2's. 6 allen heads are a pain to loosen up then retighten, but knowing it wont slip is the advantage.

So i guess i should wait till i get new cams eh? Im planning on buying either crower or skunk cams in the future i guess i should wait till then. Thanks everyone, i guess ill use that money towards something else.

my aems only slipped on me once, and thats because i never checked them outta the box. i've adjusted them about 15 times now and no slipping at all. i run it pretty good too.
