Single cylinder

Im looking at running some form of supercharger/ Turbo with a 450cc single cylinder 4 stroke bike engine as part of my degree. I've got a reasonable knowledge of adding a compressor to a 4 cylinders + engine but cant find anything relating to a single cylinder. The best part is we have to run a 20mm restrictor! Any help or opinons would be great

There isn't any difference in adding forced induction to a single cylinder engine than an engine with more than one cylinder. Perhaps it's a little easier since the cylinders can interfere with eachother.

ok thanks for that, do you think that the 20mm restrictor and a compressor would work ok? the throttle body and restrictor must be placed before the compressor though.

20mm restrictor and throttle body before the compressor... sounds like Formula SAE.
Yes it works, however, a turbocharger has the advantage that a higher boost can be used at lower engine speeds allowing max power during a wide band. Like the WRC cars for example, above 300 hp whole the way from 3000 rpm to redline of around 7500 rpm.
