Mazda RX-7 R-1

I just started one new project, just for relaxing with other detailed projects.
It's painted in silver color so far. It will be base color for next one.

Final paint is on the car. I't Subaru WRC auto color which this time I tried over silver base. It's lighter than on my Skyline but it's still more like WRX color.

Yes, little. I will do light wet sanding and that put another clear coat and than will be perfect. First layer is always light and as base for another.

Coming along nicely Zeljko. So long as the 'waves' are only in the clear coat it sould sand/polish out just fine.

What type of paint is the blue?

for the interior you should do orangey leather like in the 350z

Phil, it's auto color named Subaru WRC.

Sorry Zeljko, I should have been more specific. I was wondering what brand, in a can or mixed to a code - that kind of stuff! I've recently started using automotive paints and want to find out as much as I can about them. Your colours always look great!

Phil, it's "Subaru NEW 555 BLUE_METALLIC" color from Standox firm, code is 74F.
Standox is international firm and can be found in many countries. In some countries is conected with Du Pont so maybe can be found with them too.

Thanks for that Zeljko. There is a Standox place in my town, so will have to drop in there sometime. ;)

Interior is in painting now. I't dark/light blue combo with flosking on the floor.

Dude your Rex is looking nice. I wasn't too sure about the blue on blue on blue thing, but you pulled it off nicely. Keeping the stock wheels? A bronze finish wheel would work REALLY well with your color scheme...

If you'll paint those wheels silver it will look much more realistic than that kit plating.

Looking good Zeljko. If you don't want to strip and paint the wheels, a gentle black wash around the bolts and other crevaces will enhance the realism.
