I have been looking at alot of different intakes for my 96 blazer, and I am not quit sure what to get. I want something that will give me better gas mileage but also something that adds a little horsepower. I have seen alot on ebay and they are very cheap. I always thought a good intake woudl be pricey so any suggestions would help.

I just installed the K&N FIPK part no. 57-3017-2 for my 96 Blazer after reading suggestions on this board and am happy with it so far, I paid about $240 off ebay from this guy: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7927489941&category=33659&sspagename=WDVW
I can't vouch for the improved gas mileage yet since I just got it but I notice a little bit of difference in throttle response when I step on it, and it sounds cool too heh. My next investment will be an exhaust to compliment it.

I just bought the Ravin Z55 for my exhaust, and now I am looking at an intake but someone tole me all intakes are the same and a cheap is as good as an expensive, just wondering if that was true, if not I have been looking at the KN intake. Any suggestions

Honestly as long as it is mandrel-bent, not pcv, cotton gause reuseable cone filter. Usally cheaper intakes will be just a stright tube that hooks right on to ur intake, but you will have to some how filter ur crakcase intake off of the valve cover. Thats really the only draw back. Hopes this helps u choose a filter right for you.
