Tamiya F50 Exhaust

Well, I kinda messed up the exhausts on my F50 when the glue i used kinda reacted with the chrome plating. What paint should I use to cover it up? I have Alclad II and Metalizer Aluminum plate. Or should I just leave it as is?

Sand the glue off, strip all the chrome off, and repaint the entire exhaust all one color. Between Alclad II and Metalizer Aluminum plating, it is your choice. For future reference, use Elmer's white glue, won't react with the chrome.

I use houshold bleach to strip off the chrome-plating, and then put some alclad 2 chrom on it.

since chrome exhaust don't look real, use ModelMaster Metallizer burn metal to paint them with a mix of steel.

I used plain old Tamiya acrylic on mine.

Don't worry about ruining the chrome- I'ts unrealistic and damn goofy looking. Strip it all off, and then make sure you sand off all the mold seam lines- they're all over the place on these parts. Repaint it with whatever you like (I tend to think alclad is a bit unnecissary for this application), and give it a good weathering. If you plan to foil the engine bay, a nicely weathered exhaust system makes for some good visual contrast- instead of nothing but chrome.
