well the cost would be astronomical, secondly its not easy. it'd be easier to sell your car and buy a manual version.

No you can't use your existing tranny on a DOHC motor. I'm assuming by DOHC you are basically refering to a B-series motor (b16a, GS-R, LS) and in that case only a B-series tranny will work with that motor. You have to use the tranny for the motor series you get.

None of the D series SOHC engine parts and accessories will cross over into the B series, and vice versa. Also, there are two different catergories of b series trannies, cable and hydro.

the 00 civic EX just screams 'chick car' - I know this, because I own one:

i have the same car, in a manual/5-speed...why do you have to have an SI tranny? You could do the entire swap, considering the SI and EX are nearly identical in terms of the body, but I think it would cost you more than the car is worth, especially if you can't do it yourself.

Keep your car stock, keep the miles off of it, sell it to some female and just get a used SI.

the only DOHC motor you can get and use your tranny would be the ZC, but they are from 88-91 JDM CRX SI's, and most states wont allow a motor to be put into a car thats older than it.
