I have a 2001 dakota and need to know how to reset the comp. I hooled up a keyless entry with a remote starter and now all that works but I have lights on for my abs and air bags, my speedometer doesn't work my heater only blows cold air. all kinds of stuff is not working correctly. I have tried to disc. the battery but it didn't reset anything. Can someone let me know how to reset the comp

Thanks

There are two ways you can do it one is by disconecting the battery and then turning the key into the on potition for about 30 secs or more. The other I dont exactly remember which computer conector to take off but it has to do with that. But did this fix your problem with your system? I am about to install the same sort of set up next month and hope this isnt a problem for me!!

Well I didn't see your email so I went and unhooked everything and the ligts andsuch still come on.

So I hooked everthing back up and the remote starter starts the truck, the radio and the blower do not work

When I turn the key the blower and the radio work it all seems fine. When I step on the brake or shift into gear the abs light and the air bag light come on the speedonmeter doesnt work and the heater a/c switch is out.

I have disconnected everything pulled every fuse and relay un hooked the battery.

when I start it the lights still come on and the ac/ heatere switch does not work and the speddo is not working either.

I have tried most evrything I can think of if you have any suggestions please let me know

Thanks

OK i need to try and understand this...

when you remote start this vehicle the HVAC blower, radio and other things quit working? but when you start it with the key everything works fine again?

you've also checked all the fuses in the truck...even the ones under the hood?

If all my assumptions are correct than you have an IGN/ACC wiring problem with your remote start. I would like to know which unit you have? and i should be able to figure something out for ya!

DUDE, be carefull. You onbviously do not have all the needed wired hooked up correctly. You'll run into the chance of burning up your tranny because of this. :bricks1:

Ok next question?

do you have both ACC wires hooked up?

second, when you say you disconnected everything do you mean you pulled the whole remote start out?

I would highly suggest getting a multi meter, and going through all the fuses in the truck to make sure 12v is present on both sides of the fuses. with the key in the on position.
