Looking at a 91 legacy with 190,000 km
just wondering how reliable the turbo will be at that high of mileage?
and overall is it a solid model? looks awsome and Ive always wanted awd

My 91 Legacy Turbo has 204,000 miles, and still runs great. Over the years we've replaced struts, water pump, camshaft seals, bearings on some of the timing belt pulleys and tensioners, wheel bearings and front shafts, but absolutely nothing really major. It still doesn't use any oil. The sunroof switches/motor is intermitent, and the driver's side shoulder belt retractor has failed and been replaced twice, but heck, I may run this out to 250 or 300 thousand miles. I can't say whether this is typical of all 91 Legacy Turbos or whether the manufacturing tolerances gods all aligned for this one. Just let the turbo cool down after hard driving before turning it off.

I have a 93 Legacy with 210,000 miles on it. Like Marke, I have had no major repairs. Just wear and tear items. It's not a turbo but I think the BC(90-94) models were pretty reliable all around.

BTW - I live in Wisconsin. If you get snow where you live you will never buy another fwd/rwd car again. And if you do get snow, buy a set of snow tires for it. My Hakkas are about ten years old and I'm still like a kid in a candy store when I see it snowing outside.

My sister has a 91 Legacy with about 140,000K on it and shes put around $2,000 into it. The biggest problem about it is the rust. Other than that the interior is built to last and the engine will never die. With regular maintenence it should last till 300,000 miles. Yes ive seen them go that far.

Forgot to add that the AWD in the Legacy is great in the snow. It is as good as an Audi's AWD system.

I have a 1993 Subaru Legacy with 265,000.00 miles on it. Everything works perfectly and its only ever had axle and CV joint replacement. Runs like a new car and my nephew has a 1987 Subaru Station Wagon 4X4 thats rusted out with 223,000.00 miles that runs perfect. Some kind of a hidden jewel here in these things. Mine was givin to me as was my nephews from my brother who loves them.

Yea thats pretty funny when you have a car with over 200,000 miles and its all rusted out but runs like it just came out of the showroom. Subarus are awesome. That will be my next car.
