Thats not spamming your post. I am an automotive painter, so I cringe when theres a finger print on a paint job, if theres a scratch, you do not want to be near me.

All I like is the paint.

Why mod it, it's sweet just as it is, just do the details like engine wireing/plumbing. If you want to mod something. Get a stock 37 ford and do the mods you want.

yeah really man what is your problem anyways i know your a moderator and all but that doesnt give you the right to crap on other peoples diecasts not to mention you designed a car that is like identicle almost except for the top and grill. I guess what im getting to is im sick of all these people who think they have it all just because theyve been here longer- you guys pat each other on the back too much and then just turn around to newer people and call all their cars crap. i figured youd at least give my diecast a little respect because after all your building a metal hotrod am i wrong? yes you are entitled to your own opinion but hasn't your mommy taught you yet that if you can't say something nice don't say it at all? heck i learned that when i was 5

sorry if this offended you but i felt that it needed to be said

thanks to all of you who at least had some suggestions, comments, and respect

Just because I am a moderator doesnt mean I have to keep my thumb up my ass and not be able to say anything bad. Im not crapping on it, you asked for my opinion, I gave it. You asked what you could change, I told you what you could change.

A car that is designed almost like the one you bought? Interesting that mines is a Ford and your diecast is a Chevy. So a lot of it is different.

I'm not cocky because I've been here longer. Frankly, I dont care if you have been here since before Igor was here. Because that has absolutely nothing to do with calling something crap, which nobody did. Find where I said the word crap in this thread, and with the context of "Your" and "model".

Diecast, "schmie-cast". Im not saying that its not respected, but why does it automatically deserve respect when Im building a similar model? Im building mine out of steel, and that has nothing to do with respecting a diecast. That is completely post-hoc arguement.

Sorry Mike, but he is right, it is a 1937 Ford Coupe. Here is a picture of the 1:64 scale, I couldnt find any 1:24 still in their packages

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v105/FlySkyline/564.jpg

Here is the Muscle Machines website, they make the Jesse James cars. It is the link to the cars in that line, the site was just put up, so their is a typo on the red Coupe, it says 57, not 37

And isnt Jada the company that made the "'51 Lincoln Mercury"?

mike@af
10-19-2004, 07:27 AM
So do y'all believe some package when the companies cant name half the cars right? or believe the pictures? I was looking at a Dodge Challenger for my cousing, it said Dodge Charger on the box. Companies goof up all the time. I can see the clear difference between a '37 Chevy and a '37 Ford.

Tim, are you agreeing with me, or just making a smartass remark?

^this is a 1937 ford which looks exactly like it except for a differnt grill and headlights because you can get custom grilles and headlights you know not to mention jesse james customizes all of his cars anyways

So if the box said it was a Nissan are you going to call it a Nissan? Everything on the Challenger is the same as the Charger except for the lights, wing and a few other things, but that doesnt mean its a Charger.

I think almost all of us can agree that the box is wrong. Companies do make mistakes.

EvilSI
10-19-2004, 04:46 PM
another thing is that it doesnt really look like a ford or a chevy coupe but these are supposed to be replicas of jesse jame's cars so maybe since jesse customizes all of his rods he might have done a front end or grill conversion or something like that- you never know

Ok, I have done some asking around with Muscle Machine collectors and looking at the pictures posted.

The diecast is a Ford Coupe, but it has been customized with a Chevy grill, just as all the other cars in the Jesse James line have been customized in some way.

Settled?

Ummmm, WRONG!

The ford headlights are in the fenders, the chevy (same as this diecast) are monted to the sides of the hood. In either case the ford or the chevy have split windshields, this does not. I've been searching, anyone find a pic of the real car?

I think MM just miss-labeled.

cwmax
10-19-2004, 06:33 PM
hmmmmm, now I see the headlights mounted ON TOP the fenders, still not in them like a ford.

FlySkyline
10-19-2004, 07:31 PM
It is a custom FORD. Look at the grill on the diecast, then look at the girll on the Chevy mike posted up. Notice how on the chevy the top of the grill is slanted back towards the windshield, now look at the diecast, the grill goes straight up.

Now lets look at the rear part of the car. Look at where the roof meets the body again. Lets look at the Chevy first

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v105/FlySkyline/minotti.jpg

Notice how the rear end of the car flows down, almost like one piece

Look at the Ford

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v105/FlySkyline/Minotti-102.jpg

Notice how you can clearly see where the roof meets the body again. Then the body procedes to go back then the body starts to go down towards the ground.

Look at the diecast, I am using the 1:64 because it has a side shot

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v105/FlySkyline/564.jpg

I will say this, the front end almost looks like a Chevy, but if you look at the rear part of the car, it looks like a Ford. I think it is more likely that the front end of the car is customized, and the Ford rearend was left alone.

I also tried looking for real pics of the car, but I couldnt find any

cwmax
10-19-2004, 07:38 PM
Funny this car is not on WCC site, Not that I could find.

It is a '36 Ford with a Nash grill according to my dad, He's been in the pre 1948 car parts biz for 30+ years.

The box says 37 ford?

FlySkyline
10-19-2004, 07:48 PM
The box just says Ford Coupe. But on the Muscle Machines website, it is called a 1937 Ford Coupe, alot of people also refer to it as the 1937 Coupe
