1998 Ford Explorer No brakelights

I have a 1998 Ford Explorer that the brakelights have gone out in the last few day. I have replaced the bulbs and sockets. The top brakelight bar is working so it has me puzzled. Does anyone have any suggetions?

My father had a similar problem. It turned out to be a grounding problem. He took it to a body shop and they fixed it for him. You might also try a local mechanic. Try to avoid the ford dealership as much as possible. they just fuck you over.

yea it could be bad ground, an open, or a short.

if nothing else is f@cked up then its prolly just bad ground .
best thing I advise is just go ahead and go to a autoparts and look up the wiring schematics on your brakelights.prolly in a haynes manuel or something.
read it there or buy it. that manuel should help alot.
