how hard or economic is it to upgrade a 1984 pontiac fiero from se four speed 2.5L stock to 5+ speed 8 cylinder motor? Any suggestion or direction would be appreciated for this project

This is something def you should look into to. try pennocks forum, they have a lot on this. V-8 Archie as well. I started with an 2.5L SE with a 5speed isuzu, so the switch to the getrag wasn't hard at all. as far as economical, whats your budget?
