Some of you may or may not remember my Salvage yard diorama I started last year. Well I have started to find some time to invest again so I am beginning to superdetail it now. I am doing all the touch ups and things I missed and what not. I will be framing the base as well. Heres some shots from tonight.

Thats the best part, it's almost free. I used some old hulks from a KILLER stash I was fortunate enough to aquire.

The base is just particle board HEAVILY coated with 3M Adheisive then I poured on some plain old backyard dirt. You can keep applying the 3M/dirt until the desired terrain/height has been achieved.

The rust is REAL rust. I rot out old steel wool pads and a 1/2 glass of water for a few days. Presto real rust powder that keeps on rusting. My cars now look worse then when they started because the rust is still active and rusting. It's the most authentic you can get.

Heres a shot from the first week I started the 67 GTX last year.

Since i know how u made the rust, i got one question, how do u put it on? do you brush it on wet or dry?

i like the small details, like the flat tires, though on the sixth pic there is a car laying on anothe with a flat tire. it looks really weird. nice work overall, i likte it :D

I combine flat black (or any color you like) with a SMALL amount of thinner, wet the brush, dip it in the powdered rust, then aply.

Mixing reds, yellows and black will cover nearly every color of rust known.
Alot of experimenting.
