Well the IRT parts market is basically for those who really dont mind spending the extra dollars to get genuine honda parts. Some people are crazy to the point where they want to get everything in their USDM to be JDM spec including cup holders etc.
Recaro seats are great, awesome lat support and definitely make a different. Sparco makes good seats, cheaper than genuine ITR seats but still great quality. If you have the money, go for them, theyre great seats.
As a rule, i stay away from APC, I just don't trust their parts.

I personally would definitely spend the money on recaros, but i would do alot more to my car before I bought 1300 dollar seats. Tenzo makes a type R "style" seat that i like. I bought driver fx "racing" seats about 6 months ago for my 2000 civic si and i have been pretty happy with them. At the time I wanted my interior to be blue and black, but now i want my interior to be "Type R spec" and they are for sale with brackets, sliders, and weapon R harnesses. Make me an offer if you want them. later

Don't get cheap crap like APC...I once was in a showroom where they had a free APC seat they got sticking on the floor. Thing smelled kind of like marijunia, apperantly they use hemp fibers in the constuction of the seats over in tiawan. I figured I'd sit in them to see how they felt...wholly crap, not much better than a concrete floor. I knew APC was junk, but that was ridiculous.
The Tenzo-R seats weren't the most comfy buy any means, but were great for the money, like $350-$380 a set (I think it was a set, it was a long time ago, maybe it was a seat) or something, not much compared to others. As I said, not the most comfy out there, but great for the price. Corbeu had some very comfortable seats I liked very much. Sparco's seats weren't bad either, the Terino was a little too thin for my buddy, but I thought it was great. The Recaro SRD was a very comfy seat, absolutly great. The Recaro sport? Hated it, too stiff, I liked the SRD, the Spacro seat, the Tenzo and the Corbeus better...plus is costed more than the others to boot.
I believe the ITR Recaro is based off of the Recaro SRD seats.
I bought a pair of cloth teg seats w? lumbar support real cheap and re-wrapped them myself (though the fact I work @ an uphostery shop made it easier). I added more padded when I backed all the suede with 1/4" foam before I could sewed em up. It made a big difference, I think they are very comfy. Maybe not as good as the Recaros, but a lot better than the seats that came in the car, and it's in the color skeem I like.
Out f the seats I mentioned, the ITR seats are comfy, though pricey. I suppose regular Recaros can be just as bad, I didn't like the sports, but LOVED the SRD...that woul dhave been my choice. The Torino wasn't bad. Sparco has a new seats I didn't care for, not bad, but I just felt there are better seats out there for the money. The Tenzo's weren't the most comfortable of them all, but were great for the $$.

Just because a seat LOOKS the same as another, does NOT mean it'll feel like that other seat.
I recently bought a used Bride Ergo racing seat for my EJ6 coupe, and I LOVE it. I was originally planning to get a pair of Del Sol seats, and boy am I glad I didn't! Firstly Sol seats are WAY uncomportable for more than a 10 mile drive/trip. My Bride seat I could sit in ALL day and not walk away with my butt all sore feeling. Other cheaper seats I've tried out (R1 Racing, Tenzo-R, APC, etc...) simply can't match the quality and comfort of a good racing seat manufacture like Bride, Sparco or Recaro. In the case of Bride and Recaro, seats is ALL they make and specialize in. Wouldn't you rather you're seat be made by a company that makes ONLY seats rather than one that also makes mufflers, and crappy ones at that! When it comes to seats, you get what you pay for as well. Other good cheaper companies though are Cobra and Corbeau. I'd definitely look into either of those as well. ITR and CTR seats will always cost more, because for one they are completely suede leather covered and lined. Leather ups the price considerably.
