Replacing trans in 2000 GT?

It went at 83k miles. Im looking at changing it myself. It looks like the best way is to drop the motor and trans with k-frame altogether. Is this the best way to do this or is there some way else?

Also, how much time will it take to do a overhall kit? Ive been looking into doing this over the winter!!! Any instructions for this process??
