Hello all - I the newbie on the forum!! Well, my question is, my brake light on my 00' 4Runner keeps coming on. I checked the brake fluid and it looks clean & clear @ the right level.
Do ya think I need new brakes? The help would be appreciated...

Do you mean the brake light in the back, or the brake light on the guage cluster?

Could be:
Brake fluid level switch is faulty or connector is loose
Parking brake switch is faulty (or parking brake is on)
The bulb-check relay is faulty
Meter circuit is faulty
Wire harness is faulty

Blazzin Brandon & Brian R - Thanks for the replies.
It's the brake light on the on the Guage cluster. I've checked the parking break and its down. The light only comes on from time to time. It's not always on.
Thanks for your help.

Well, my father has a Toyota Previa, and his brake light always comes on and goes off, and its been like this for about 2 years, and nothing has happened, so I'm pretty sure its nothing serious.

Well, from the list of possible problems that could cause this symptom, it doesn't seem to be a serious issue. The only problem is that you could get used to seeing it on and not recognize it when it is signalling a real problem and ignore it.
