Welcome to the forum and let me know if you need anymore info.
http://shbox.com/1/dlc1.jpg
Programming procedure:
Ground the program input line by connecting a fused jumper at the Data Link Connector (DLC) from terminal "G" to terminal "A" (note: use terminal G and A for pre '95 12 pin DLC. A is the top right pin and G is the bottom left. Use terminals 4 and 8 for the '95 16 pin DLC. The 16 pin DLC connector is numbered top left (1) to top right (8) and bottom left (9) to bottom right (16) ). The Receiver will cycle the Door Lock Actuators within one to three seconds to acknowledge that the Receiver is in the "PROGRAM" mode.
Press any button on the Transmitter once. In response, the Receiver will cycle the Door Lock Actuators to acknowledge that a transmission has been received.
Press any button on the second Transmitter once. In response, the Receiver will cycle the Door Lock Actuators to acknowledge that a transmission has been received.
Remove the fused jumper from the DLC and verify system operation using all three Transmitter buttons.
Important
Always program both Transmitters when replacing a lost or damaged Transmitter. The first Transmitter Code programmed will always be in both memories until a second Transmitter is programmed within the same sequence.
The Keyless Entry System will not be operational if the program input line is left grounded.
Program only one vehicle Keyless Entry System at a time. If multiple vehicles are being programmed in close proximity simultaneously, it is possible that the same Transmitter could be trained to more than one Receiver.

Sorry I missed your post til now but here are the 96 + Keyless entry programming instructions. If you have any questions after reading these instructions please feel free to ask and welcome to the forum.
Programming procedure:
Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
Remove RADIO fuse 17 from fuse block.
Cycle ignition switch from OFF to RUN three times within five seconds until the door locks and the hatch release cycle, indicating the Body Control Module is in the Programming Mode.
Press and hold BOTH LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on remote control door lock transmitter for 16 seconds.
Door locks will cycle once, confirming the transmitter code is programmed. The door locks must cycle completely to unlock before proceeding.
Any transmitter code that was previously programmed has been erased.
Body Control Module is now programmed to remote control door lock transmitter.
When programming the Body Control Module to match remote control door lock transmitters, the first transmitter code matched will be stored in memory unless a second remote control door lock transmitter is matched at the same time. If programming the Body Control Module to match a second transmitter, repeat step 4. This must be done before the RADIO fuse 17 is reinstalled.
Ignition switch to OFF.
Reinstall RADIO fuse 17 to fuse block.
NOTE: Always program both transmitters when replacing a lost or damaged transmitter. The first transmitter code programmed will always be in both memories until a second transmitter is programmed within the same sequence.

a paper clip will do or any wire will do but if you want one any auto parts store should carry them.

use the directions above that are listed to program a remote. if the door locks cycle then you have keyless entry. i think it was a standard option. just use a paperclip to connect the A and G holes.

You can buy a keyless entry reciever box off ebay for pretty cheap even if you don't have it and on 95 models its a direct plug in install .Taked maybe 15 minutes and saves you the trouble of splicing in a aftermarket unit. Good Luck hopefully you won't need it, Also welcome to the forum.

Quick question. I also have a 95 firebird with all power options as a "pagan_princess" does and I too don't know if my car came with keyless entry. So I'm on eBay right now lookin at some keyless entry remotes and I'm wondering.. does it matter if you buy a remote for a different year other than yours? Such as a 96+ control for a 95 bird? Just wondering because the contol for the 94-95 birds looks like crap compared to the ones for the 96+

Yes it matters. They run different range of frequency's. They are not interchangable. If your unhappy with the way the remote looks. You could always buy a aftermarket system with different style remote.

Alright, thanks for the info. But here's another question I have. I looked and found a keyless entry system that comes with all hardware, including the receiver and 2 remotes. But it's for the the 94-96 Buick Roadmaster's and Chevy Caprice's. The remote looks just like the ones for the Firebirds and Camaros.. so I'm assuming all GM vehicles remotes look alike. So do you think this would work since I can't find a receiver specifically for the Firebirds/Camaros?

B-This thread is over a year old (nothing more than 3 months is concidered open for further discussion)
C-this isn't the Caprice forums, so head there and select the "new thread" button, good heads there can help you out
