i know the first gen 4g63 is better because of reduced risk of crankwalk, but what about the awd on first gens? is it better or is there no difference? and will it even go into a 2nd gen eclipse? also, will the awd system from a talon go into an eclipse the same? and i need a list of all the rearend parts. i found how to do the conversion, but it only says you need the entire rearend, so i need a parts list to get rolling. thanks to anyone that can help!!

ive heard the 92 4 bolt rearend is better then the rest. im not sure why, or even if its true. might want to wait for a more experienced dsm'er to catch on to this thread

Scottsee is correct as far as rear end goes, The 4 bolt rear end, is indeed much stronger. The first gen tranny and 2nd gen tranny are different. 2nd gen setups have 3 of the four mounts on the tranny, while 3 of the four mounts on a 1st gen are on the engine. Talons and Eclipses are mechanically the same, as long as your talking about the same trime (turbo, turbo awd, n/a). As for the engines, yes, 2g engines have a tendency to walk a crank, and 6 bolts (cars form 90-92.5) can do the same,as can any engine, but it is defintaly more rare then seeing a 7 bolt commit this crime.

the only thing they have there is the "short" 4-bolt swap. i need to know EVERYTHING that i need for the entire swap because i'm not having any luck finding a rolling chassis with the 4-bolt rearend
