winter tires

I just bought a 2000 GC and it needs new tires. I live where there is lots of snow and ice. I was going to get studded winter tires but the best selling and best rated winter tires are not sutudable (eg. Blizzak). Can anyone recommend a set of winter tires? Thanks,.
