Hey everyone, I got a '91 Turbo. Recently I've put an exhaust, downpipe, blow-off valve, and fcd on. My car's pushing around 13 psi. Anyways, a little while after putting my exhaust on I got a hole in one of my hoses and had to replace it. Then I don't know if it was because of that but I had to replace my air flow meter. Then after putting my downpipe on my car's psi went up around 12 something and I started getting fuel cut. That's why I got the FCD. Now, my car's first started driving different in between putting the downpipe & fcd on. Here's how it is... it drives perfectly fine in most of first gear and lower rpms up to around 4000 rpm average. Then past 4000(when the boost starts climbing higher) my car starts getting slower, accelerates sluggishly, the rpms climb slower, it kinda bogs out you could say.... especially the higher I get in the rpms. Oh also, it's been backfiring a lot lately. Anyone know what's wrong or got any ideas. I thought maybe the oxygen sensor... or possibly something with my ignition. I just put in a new distributor cap & rotor & also new plugs... it kinda seemed like it might have helped a little but not much. Hopefully I can figure this out soon. Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure what it can be. You might wanna change your distributor, rotor, wires and plugs. Plus, go to board.mr2faq.com and ask them there. They are always helpful.

sounds like ur running out of fuel when the boost kicks in...you should bump up the fuel pressure a bit....i had the problem on a turbo civic....the boost kicked in and the car slowed a lot....so maybe get bigger injectors or raise the fuel pressure....

i have had this problem, it sounds like its the turbo goin, thats what i thought, i took it to the dealership, they told me that when i was pushin too high of boost, the ignition system couldnt handle it, so take it to them for a new stock system, or replace it with a whole new upgraded ignition system
