I dont mean to butt in, but 500$ for the headgasket is not bad at all- I had 4 quotes- 3 were ridiculous they wanted 1200-1500$- so we went to the Eclipse Speciality shop- a local mechanic shop called Show Down (I live in Ohio) and they did the headgasket, waterpump and labor for $500. I got lucky- I had the headgasket replaced 2 weeks before and it started leaking again- the bolts were stretched- make sure you changed the bolts no matter what and get the head checked and machined- that is super important- I had it machined the 1st time but we did not changed the bolts because it was the 1st time ever unbolted- but they do stretch! Also use an aftermarket head gasket- the factory ones from what I hear leak a lot? Good Luck!

I run a stock headgasket. Seems to work fine even over 500 whp for many people. ARP studs are the key.
