GST and GSX

Hey peeps! ok a GST is FWD and a GSX is an AWD, wouldn't a GSX be faster then 14.9 sec on a quarter mile? They can't be the same, the GSX has to be like 14.3sec or something. What do you think?

Doesnt matter what we think, 14.9 is what it runs. GST is mid to upper 15s.

ok lets not go into the integras, i was talking about gsx and gst's... this is the mitsubishi eclipse forum not the acura integra forum... anyways, the gst and gsx can't be tied! gsx gotta be like 14.3 like i said above, i mean with the AWD and FWD stuff...

And like I said above they are not tied, but a stock GSX doesnt run 14.3s. Rather than make up numbers, go to the track and see what it runs. I dont know where you get the idea that the GSX and GST run the same, the FWDs are in the mid to upper 15s. As I already said.

And I said at first that your guess missed the mark, 14.9 to 15.0 is what they run. Thats not a guess, its what they run. Its seems you were assuming it was the GSTs that ran the 14.9s, therefore the GSXs should be quicker, 14.3s by your guess. This much I think I inderstand. Its when I stated that the GSXs in fact do run 14.9s and you said they must run 14.3s, again, that you lost me ;) At any rate, dont take my word for it, go to the track and see what they run. :)

GSX's maybe awd but dont forget the fact that it weighs more. like 400 pounds if im correct? and i thought a GST ran .3 faster because it came back after launch and caught up and past it by .3 seconds. GST 14.5 GSX14.9 ? from carstats.com .

The GSX weighs about 200 pounds more. And no, the gst will not catch up in the 1/4, stock for stock. However, after the 1/4 the gst will eventually catch up and pass the gsx. :2cents:

..... actually, I have a GSX and when I was stock, I beat every GS-T I raced. even if it had an exhaust or intake. It's all about the launch man. Then they're playing catch up the whole time. But they never did catch up by the 1/4 mile, actually they never pulled on me. The best they ever did was to just stop my pulling away. I got my stock gsx to 14.7 without any mods. But I do have to agree that on the highway/freeway, they'll pull on us cause we're fattys.

And if you do mod for mod, The gap between GSX-GST will grow because we can actually put that power to the ground from the launch all the way through. They run like 14.7-14.9 (GSX) to (14.9-15.1) GST and toss in intake and exhaust and the GSX could possibly be in the 13's while the GST will probably be around low to mid 14's

I dont think you would be running 13's with just intake and exhaust. I know this would free up airflow but would you really cut your time that much???

Best I Could get out of my 95 GSX with a filter and exhaust was 14.3. Best I could get out of the T25 on pump gas period was 14.2 ;) 1G is a whole other story. Exhaust, filter, and hacked mas has run 12s.

i got a 15.1 out of my stock gst, and my friend got a 14.9 out of his stock 96gsx just to give you some real #'s.

What was your 60' on that 15.1 run? The 14.9?

FWD is limited to around 130. My GSX went close to 150 with just an exhaust. Took forever to get there though. I'd like to try it again, but theres no place to go that fast safely around here.

Just for grins I checked my 0-60 time on my last drag run. Crappy 1.789 60 foot time, and still good for a 3.4 second 0-60. :lol:

Man i bet that burns their toast when a DSM beats them off the line! If I had one like that and got beat by a DSM I would kill my self, just for the fact that my 200,000 car just got whooped hahahaha What mods do you have on your car now?

I used to smoke vipers and other "fast" cars off the line, sometimes to half track, when I was running high 12s. But then they would run me down on the top end. That doesnt happen much more though with my current times, I pick up 28 mph on the second half of the track. it was about 2 years ago and i dont have the slips anymore, i didnt realize the importance of saving them untill i started modding. But those are the times that we put down.

All i know is, no matter how incredibly good looking the 2G's are...get a 1G if you are looking for pure speed. Dont make the same mistake I did. Only now I realize the importance of having such a nice sleeper that you can just pop in a 16G...I am a stupid, stupid man...and the fact that I'm in school and dont have an income makes things even worse. 1G's pwn, might just build mine up a little and trade it in myself...
