flooded 350z

I saw a 2004 350z that has been in a flood for sale... He said that everything has been professionally cleaned, but doesnt run cause the engine wont turn over....

so my questions are:
what kind of damage could have occured from the flood?( selling "as is" so i want to see what possibly needs to be fixed/replaced)
and how can i fix them?
Is it still worth buying? ( hes taking offers)
How much should i offer?

um...bad things happen to engines submerged in water. water gets pulled into the engine or sucked of the engine was on. that means new engine or fresh rebuild. corroded and destroyed wiring harnesses.

about buying it. i dont know. its up to you. i would look into it a little bit and ask a mechanic to check it out before you buy it.

Good advice, but in my experiences, its the electrical system that will absolutely kill ya. If possible, inspect the engine bay to get an idea of "how submerged" the vehicle was (ie. rusting, water marks, etc) and make a good inference about what electrical components were submerged at that water line. Odds are, this guy received a "total loss" insurance claim and bought back the car for about a 1/5 of its value. If you have another vehicle and want to take a project, then the choice is yours . . .

If the computers got wet, bad news. Is it automatic or standard? Automatic with water inside, bad news. In fact if it was under water more than 1 hour it's bad news. About all it's good for is parts or strip for racing. If you don't mind telling me how to contact the seller I'll try and check it out and give you a better opinion.
