88 Prelude Si Timing Question

I'm wondering how to adjust the distributor timing on my 88 Prelude Si. The car struggles to start sometimes, especially when it is cold. I'm assuming it is the timing on the distributor. It turns over, but doesn't catch. If it doesn't work the first time, I just have to turn the key off and then back on and it works. Any help would be appreciated. I know you use a timing light but I couldn't figure out where to connect it to on the engine. Thanks.

Why Does Everybody Think Somthings Wrong With The Timing???????? Sorry Nothin Agianst You. When Ever They Have A Problem With The Engine They Think Its The Timing. Ill Try To Help U Out The Best That I Can. Does The Engine Sputter Or Run Weird Or Run Like A Custom Chopper ?????? If It Does Then That Is Ur Timing. Also If It Does Not Ur Timing Can Be Out A Little Bit. Does The Car Not Acelerate Good????? Cause If The Timing Is Out A Little Bit It Wont Acel As Good As Its Suppose To. If You Want To Check The Timing Its Up To You. Youll Need To Get A Timing Light If You Want To Do It Properly. Just Guessing At It Will Eventually Screw Your Motor Up. The First Thing You Need To Do Is To Put A Jumper Wire In The Two Pin Connector (next To The Ecu) Im Not Sure If Ur Car Has One. Then You Need To Take Out The 7.5 Fuse Under The Hood. Agian Not Sure If Your Car Has One. After That U Hook Up The Timing Light. It Has A Positve And A Negative That U Hook Up On The Battery. It Also Has A Plug Wire That Goes On #1 Cylinder. (closest One To The Timing Belt) Then You Losen The Three Bolts On The Dist (do Not Remove Them Just Losen Them) Then Adjust The Distributor. Then Tighten The Bolts Back Up And Your Done. But It Doesnt Sound Like The Timning To Me. It Sounds More Like Its Somthing To Do With Your Starter And Its Wires. Id Check Them First Agian Its Up To You. Also It Could Be Your Spark Plugs,or Your Fuel Syestem Could Be Bad. Id Check Them All. Let Me Know What Happens
