96 Bonneville power moonroof closing problem

I have a 1996 Bonneville with the power moonroof. One touch of the button opens the roof properly. However, when I push the button down to close the roof, the roof will move a couple of inches and stop. I have to keep doing that until it closes. This has been happening more frequently in the last year.

Any idea on what is happening??
