Weird problem today...
Car hasn't moved in a couple days, and it's been cold. Its like 30 - 40 here in Chicago. This morning when I was going to work, I shifted to 2nd, and the car almost died. The A/F gauge went full red, and the rpm dropped drastically. Engine was cold. I went to neutral, and revved. The car then seemed kinda loud and rough. Coming home after work then, it was fine. Problem here? Thanks

Cold start...usually the oil. You may just need a good tune up. It will probably be better to use a lighter weight oil or make sure your car is warming up properly. Cars are not designed to be started and driven immediately though most people do. Can't hurt to let the car idle for a couple of minutes before driving.

Might have a messed up fuel pump. But yeah when its that cold idle it for atleast 10 min. Oil has to get liquady so it can lub your engine better. Dont stomp that shit as soon as you start the car.

Thats what I thought with the cold shit. I'll jut have to let it idle a lil b4 going.

unless you have a wideband o2 a af gauge is mostly useless

I know the A/f with stock O2 is useless, but it only goes up when it feels like it want to die, like cold early mornings.
This morning wasnt as bad. I let the car warm up, then drove. Still felt like it wanted to die, just a little. A/F gauge was all the way up tho, not up and down like it should. Once i start going, then everything becomes normal.

ECU will make the car run a bit rich on cold starts untill the temp gets above like 200 or something, like a choke function.
just let it warm up.
just let it warm up.
