Rev Limit Question?

So, I have an apexi vafc in my civic. But just out of curiosity, can the unit change your rev limit? I've always been too afraid of blowing my engine to find out. So I'd figure I just would ask someone who knows. Thanks. Late...

i don't think the VAFC can change rev limit, just VTEC crossover and your fuel

what would be the safest rev limit, higher than the stock rev limit? like 8? or 7.5?

7.5 would be the safest for me. I was just curious. Appreciate the info. Late...

a VAFC won't change your rev limit, I don't think... but I do know that hondata/uberdata can and will do it.. if you're nice to me I'll send you uberdata and tell you how to use it... but only if you're really nice to me.

no, the hack will not/can not change rev limit. yes, hondata and uberdata can, which are a lot better than the hack fyi

And I believe between the two, hondata is a better program, but uberdata is more user friendly, less technical.. like the difference between paintshop and photoshop.. they both do the same thing, but one's easier to use..

Hey, thanks a ton for the info. I've done some more research on my VAFC. I was just curious. But it has helped me fuel wise and HP wise. But about the whole uberdata. I really don't understand how it works or how to use it for that matter. Can someone explain that to me. I've heard of the Hondata systems but never actually did any homework on them. But if anyone doesn't mind explaining I have the time to learn. Thanks again. Late...

uberdata is a rom editor. you solder a socket into your ECU, get an EEPROM burner, and use the uberdata program to edit the parameters of the ECU such as fuel & timing mapping, rev limits, launch control, etc.

the difference between hondata and uberdata is that uberdata is free. Hondata has a little more features, but it costs a hell of a lot more.

and btw, he never said anything about running the AFC hack, he just asked about using a VAFC.
