Well that would be the exact same thing...the vr4 engines are TT, so to drop a vr4 engine in would entail the TT conversion.

but if i put the whole vr4 engine into an sl wont i pretty much jus need the ecu and the guages and boost controller? i wouldnt need the oil lines and all because the r goin right into the motor so they would already be there..

But stuff like the pump won't be there so check out what you need that is not part of the engine.

the thing is, if you drop a VR4 engine in, you'll have a TT FWD car, and you'll then need to convert the AWD tranny into a FWD tranny. some have welded the VCUs, others have welded the planetary gear sets to make the AWD to FWD switch. So you'll have a pretty stout car, but you won't have the all wheel drive traction of a real VR4, nor will you have the 4 wheel steering of a VR4. There's a lot involved in doing this swap you wanna do...and since you're having a mechanic do it, i know labor is gonna be out the wazoo!
basically, you're probably just better off buying a VR4, for the money you'll be spending on this swap.
