Has anyone bought or built one of the new car kits from trumpeter yet?
I jus got the pontiac bonneville conv. and its really nice.209 moulded parts, seperate spring for shocks and photoetched parts for door hinges and so on,2 options for wheels and tires, choice of exhaust systems. The chrome finish parts are quite good and i only found a tiny bit of flash on one part.Just though id share this with you all.....

Trumpeter kits are awsome. I have the 63 Nova I just started on its got as much detail and is as nicely done as the Tamiya Enzo. I just hope Trumpeter does'nt pull a Galaxie or a Lindberg and disapear.

They supposedly still have a 78 Monte Carlo coming out, although it was rumored a couple to be canceled

I have heard very good things about them and they seem well worth doing. They have only just arrived into the LHS and i have yet to see one for myself......bit on the expensive side.

they might seem expensive but other than the enzo, I have never seen as much detail in a 1:24 plastic kit.

I'll add into the praising. Trumpeter has trumped the field as far as scale detail. The photoetched functional hood hinges in the Bonneville kit alone are worth the high entrance fee.

Only Tamiya's Enzo, the Scale Motorsport/Tamiya Porsche 956, and the Accurate Miniatures Mclaren M8B are in the same category as the Trumpeter Nova and Bonneville. They're really that good.

Peter Lepold did an excellent review of the boneville kit, and how to make it accurate.

you will need a translator to read it though because it is in German, I use this one here.

I think the kits are great. I have both the bonniville and the nova. Only problem is that some of the details are not very accurate. And these kits seems to be the only kits to cost less in Sweden then they do in other parts of the world. I just got the Nova for 260 kr and a normal Revell kit costs 200-250 kr. A Tamiya kit cost 350-400 kr, so I realy like the price.
